So, what’s your business idea?
To produce an interdisciplinary Arts based production company that is made up of artists keen to to create purposeful art. From the writer(s) and designers to the directors and performers. We will also want to put a focus on bringing a new audience to the Theatre. Therefore aim to bring in more working class and lower class audience as well as appeal to the teenage market too which is something traditional Theatre has struggled to do.
What kind of company member will you be looking for?
We need skilled and talented people who can keep to deadlines as well as produce creative material within their specialist area. Each company member will need to feel equally comfortable in producing online content such as keeping a written / video diary and producing photos. Essentially, an online working progress document.
The very nature of this project means that each company member will be required to participate in promotional activities such as interviews with the media. Whilst being apart of this project can be demanding, the rewards on offer are substantial – Both in financial and ‘career stability’ terms. We believe that a company is only as good as its members and will always play a pro active role in identifying what each company member wants – Short term and long term – whilst with us and will always look at innovative ways to realise each company members’ visions.
Not going down the traditional capitalist route, how do you see yourselves investing in the basic resources to realise these ambitious visions?
The very crux of this project is all about showing people that through creative ways of thinking, new jobs can be created. This is why we are starting with £0.00 budget. This way, we are not narrowing our audience to the financial elite. We hope that our approach will be inspiring and innovative that will inject a sense of collaborative working practice within the communities as we aim to show that by working together, you can achieve so much more and that whilst having a large amount of money up front certainly makes life easier, there are other approaches that can be made to achieve goals!
